Our purpose is to provide opportunities for kids to learn about all the many, exciting and fun-filled activities associated with fishing.
Our hope is that, once exposed to this wholesome sport many kids and families will become involved in recreational activities that will help bring families together and that will last a lifetime.
The Crown Casting Club is in association with the Kansas Hooked on Fishing - Not on Drugs program as well as receiving support from other wonderful groups and businesses. Lawrence business leaders meet periodically to steer the club's activities toward the stated goals.
The local bass club (Sunflower Bassmasters) support the club with fishing expertise and offer participation in an annual BASS Casting Kids evert. Club membership is free to all kids of any age and parents of very young kids are encouraged to attend and participate with their children.
Funding support from business leaders as well as the St Patrick's Day Parade Committee have made it possible for the club to supply fishing equipment and provide logistical support for the club's activities.
The main thrust of the club is all about teaching the kids how to have fun with this wholesome sport. Instruction includes knot tying, fish identification, safety, lure identification and selection, fishing instruction and teaching the casting, pitching and flipping techniques to become proficient fishermen.
The Crown Casting Club is organized to teach kids about the wonders of fishing. The club members enjoy learning about fishing form some of Kansas' finest fishermen and outdoor people. Many kids have already caught their very first fish as a result of the club. Families are enjoying the club together and memories are being made at every meeting.

The club holds interesting and varied meetings and activities on a monthly basis. Meetings are scheduled around special fishing activities such as the Governor's Hooked on Fishing Classic that is held at Wolf Creek (Coffey County Reservoir) each year. E |
